Karolinska University Hospital is one of Europe's leading university hospitals. Together with Karolinska Institutet, the hospital forms a medical centre of high international standing.

The assignment

The customer came to us on the recommendation of RFSU. Karolinska had produced educational material for new families for translation from Swedish into English, French, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, Somali, Tigrinya and Persian, among other languages. They had previously worked with a translation agency that had delivered texts they were dissatisfied with due to mistranslations, omitted text and the inclusion of personal opinions, etc.

Language solutions

We suggested the same type of process as for RFSU. First of all, we carefully selected translators living in Sweden who could translate directly from Swedish without an intermediate step via English. We chose translators who were well acquainted with Swedish conditions and felt comfortable with the subject matter.

To safeguard the process further, we hired additional native language translators
to check their respective languages to make sure
the translations were of the highest quality.

This resulted in translations the customer felt confident with.
