Our new website

Time for a makeover
During our earlier years, we poured a lot of love and effort into our website and blog to increase organic traffic. However, we felt that the website had become outdated over the years and that it was time for a makeover.
The new website would be the starting point for our new visual identity. Not only would it make our new platform more modern, but it would also be a simpler system that we could edit ourselves. This process led us to Webbson, our new web agency, who have helped us create a new identity and website.
Visual identity
Språkbolaget is proud that there is always a human behind our translations, regardless of the tool used. We wanted visitors to experience a personal touch that invited them to read on, and to reflect this in the design.
We already knew the direction we wanted the new design to take. We decided to keep the shade of red found in our logo, as well as a darker blue for larger sections. We continued to build on this and chose complementary colours to give more life and depth to the site. To increase brand awareness, the new website incorporates small graphic elements in the primary colour to link our brand to the new website.
We’ve brought in two different typefaces for our new identity. Our primary typeface is sans-serif to capture a modern, updated feel that is also reflected in the more rounded design language. We chose Times for the secondary typeface, with its classic serif for connotations to academic texts. This typeface is used to highlight specific words in major headings, to direct attention towards the most important message. To make the page a bit more playful, the typeface has also been used in italics for short notes on the side of the page.

The result
The project has resulted in our updated visual identity, and has created a leitmotif that runs through all of the website’s different pages. Its smooth, well-planned structure allows content and sections to be easily edited and added to for a more flexible website. All of this, backed by our SEO approach, has rekindled the joy of writing blog posts.
